Your Token as an App

Every token has its own address: yourtoken.crown.info. That page is a website of its own, and a phone or computer can install a website as an app. When a holder pins your page, what lands on their home screen is your token — your icon, your ticker under it, opening straight to your page. No Chain Daddy name, no Chain Daddy icon.

It works for every token page, on every plan, with nothing to set up.

What a holder sees

Home screen iconYour token's logo, cropped to a square. With no logo, the first letter of your ticker.
Name under the iconYour ticker, e.g. PEPE. The full name (e.g. Pepe the Frog) appears where the phone has room for it, such as the app switcher.
Opening itYour page, full screen, without browser bars.
NotificationsArrive as your app. See Notifications for your holders.

A token on several chains can be pinned per chain: yourtoken.crown.info/base installs as its own app.

When holders are invited to install

We don't pop an install banner on a first visit. Your page offers it at two moments that mean something:

  • Right after someone subscribes to your updates.
  • When they come back to your page on another day.

On Android and desktop they get a small card, Add $YOURTOKEN to your home screen, in your page's accent colour. On an iPhone, where websites cannot install themselves, they get the two steps — Share, then Add to Home Screen — with your logo and name. Each person sees the invitation at most twice, and not again for two weeks after they dismiss it.

What you control, and what the phone controls

You control — through your normal token page settings:

  • The icon, by changing your logo. Installed icons refresh when the phone next checks, which can take a day; icons already on a home screen are not always redrawn by the phone.
  • The name, which is your ticker and token name.
  • The splash colour — the colour shown for a moment while the app opens — from your page's custom background colour. Without one it is a dark neutral.

The phone controls:

  • The icon's shape. iPhones round the corners; Android may cut it into a circle or another shape. Keep the important part of your logo in the middle.
  • Whether to show its own install prompt. Browsers decide that for themselves.
  • The steps on an iPhone. Nothing on a website can install it automatically on iOS; a holder has to use the Share button.

The Chain Daddy watermark

The installed app carries no Chain Daddy name or icon on any plan. The small Chain Daddy logo on the page itself follows your plan, as it does in a browser — see Watermark.
