Apps on your own site
You can put your coin's Chain Daddy apps on your own website. Visitors use them there, and anything that touches a wallet is approved in a Chain Daddy window.
Opening coin by coin
If your coin manager has no Apps on your site section yet, this has not opened for your coin.
Add an app to your site
In your coin manager, click your coin's logo and ticker at the top, then the gear in the Select Chain window. Find Apps on your site.
Copy the script tag and paste it once, anywhere on your page:
html<script async src="https://js.chaindaddy.io/v1/cd.js"></script>Copy the snippet for each app you want, and paste it where the app should appear:
html<cd-app crown="123" chain="base" app="slug"><a href="https://chaindaddy.io/SYM/base">$SYM on Chain Daddy</a></cd-app>
Apps on your site lists every app on your coin page that can run on other sites, with its snippet filled in. It also has your coin's card (<cd-coin>), which works on any site.
- Keep the link inside the snippet. It shows until the app is ready, and stays if the app can't load. It names your coin's chain, so it always opens your page.
- An app is missing from the list? Its developer has not allowed it on other sites, or it is not installed on your coin page. Paid apps and apps for holders only do not run on other sites yet.
- Apps that use a wallet work only on your verified sites. On any other site the link stays. Read-only apps work on any https site.
- If your site sends a Content Security Policy, allow
script-src https://js.chaindaddy.ioandframe-src https://embed.chaindaddy.io.
More options (colours, light and dark, events): JavaScript SDK.
What your visitors see
An app on your site looks like part of your page. A read-only app (a chart, a feed, a card) just works.
An app that uses a wallet shows a Sign in with Chain Daddy button under it:
- The visitor taps it. A small Chain Daddy window opens.
- The window names your site and your coin, with a Verified site mark, and asks the visitor to allow it.
- They allow it, the window closes, and the app knows their wallet address.
After that, each time the app wants a signature or a transaction, a Chain Daddy window opens for that one request. Nothing is signed or sent without the visitor approving it there.
What this means for you and your visitors:
- Your site never sees the wallet. Your page gets no address, no session and no result. Only the app does, inside its frame.
- Sign-in works only on your verified sites. Add and verify your site under Verified sites. On any other site the sign-in is refused.
- A sign-in is for one site and one coin. Signing in on your site signs the visitor in nowhere else.
- Visitors stay in control. They can sign out under the app, or in Chain Daddy under Settings → Connected sites, where each site and coin is listed.
- It stays signed in for up to 7 days on the same browser. Some browsers clear this sooner for sites inside a frame, and then the visitor signs in again.
Approving a request
When an app on your site asks for a signature or a transaction:
- A Chain Daddy window opens. The app shows a short match code while it waits.
- The window shows the same code, the app's name, your site with its Verified site mark, your coin, and exactly what will be signed or sent.
- The visitor approves with their wallet, or declines. The window closes and the app carries on.
A request lasts 10 minutes. If the browser blocks the window, the app shows a Continue button that opens it.
What an app on your site can ask for is narrower than on your coin's page: it can't send coins or tokens, ask for spending approvals, or take payments. Those stay on your coin's page on Chain Daddy.
