Your coin's community wall
The Community Wall is a place for your coin's community to post and reply. It shows on your coin page for every visitor.
You run it. The wall is a server you deploy on your own hosting, from a public template. Your members sign in to it with Chain Daddy, and their posts are kept on your server. You moderate it and you pay for its hosting. Chain Daddy shows your wall on your coin page, but never stores, copies or moderates its posts.
Set it up
- Add the app. On your coin page, add Community Wall from the apps. Until you finish setting it up, you see the steps below in its place, and visitors see "This coin's wall isn't set up yet."
- Deploy your wall. Choose Deploy on Render or Deploy on Vercel in the app. Each host builds your wall on your own account from its public source, the
servers/community-wallfolder of gitlab.com/opencrown/chaindaddy-apps. - Paste the values the host asks for. The app lists them, with your coin's already filled in. Copy puts them on your clipboard. Fill in these two yourself:
OPERATOR_NAME: who runs the wall (you, or your team). Members see it.LEGAL_EMAIL: where legal notices about the wall reach you.
- Paste your wall's address into the app's settings. Open the app's settings and paste the address your host gave you, like
https://my-wall.onrender.com. The settings check that your wall answers, then save. From then on, every visitor to your coin page sees your wall.
Optional: put the wall on your own domain, then verify that domain so your coin page and the wall share a name.
What you are responsible for
- The posts and the moderation. Your wall comes with tools to hide posts, lock threads, time people out, filter words and links, and limit posting to holders. Use them. Reports from the Report to the creator link under the wall go to your wall's own report queue.
- Legal notices. Keep
LEGAL_EMAILcurrent and answer what reaches it. - Hosting. If your wall goes down, it shows nothing on your coin page until it is back.
What Chain Daddy does
- It shows your wall. It frames your wall's page on your coin page, with "Run by $YOURCOIN's creator at your-wall-address" and two Report links under it.
- It passes notices on. Reports of illegal content come to Chain Daddy through Report illegal content. Chain Daddy passes them to you.
- It can turn your wall off on your coin page. If illegal content stays up, or the wall is used to scam people, Chain Daddy stops showing it on your coin page and tells you why. Your wall keeps running on your own server. To ask why, or to appeal, write to support@chaindaddy.io.
Change or remove it
To move your wall, paste its new address in the app's settings. To take it off your coin page, remove the app. Removing the app doesn't touch your wall server or its posts. Shut those down with your host.
