Events

An event is a contest on your token page with a start and an end, run by one of the apps on your page. Players register, your app reports the results, and the top places are paid a fixed prize table in your token, from a prize pool you fund.

In beta

Events are being switched on gradually. If there's no Events switch next to Airdrops in your Token Manager, they aren't on for your page yet.

Before you start

You need three things:

  • An app that runs events, added to your page. The app's server reports each player's result. Ask the app's developer whether it supports events.
  • Your token's store, open. Prizes are paid through it.
  • A prize pool. Token Manager → Community → Airdrops → Create Airdrop, and pick Your game server awards it. Its limits still apply to every event paid from it: the most per award, the per-wallet limits and the 24-hour limit. The whole table is paid at once, so it must fit inside the 24-hour limit.

Create an event

  1. Token Manager → Community → switch to Events → New event.
  2. Pick the app that runs it and the prize pool that pays it.
  3. Set the title, the start and the end (in your time zone).
  4. Fill in the prize table: an amount for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on, up to 20 places. The form shows the most the event can pay. The table can't be more than the pool has left, and no place can be more than the pool pays per award.
  5. Choose who can enter.
  6. Write the rules. They're required and shown on your page exactly as you write them: how to win, how places are decided, and what gets an entry disqualified.
  7. Pick the results key: the store key your app's server reports results with. Create it in your store's keys with Report event results ticked, and give its secret to the app's developer. Only the key you pick here can post this event's results. With none, only you can.
  8. Save draft, then Schedule. A scheduled event is public and can't be edited. You can still cancel it.

Who can enter

There's never an entry fee. You choose the rest:

OptionDefaultWhat it does
Holders only (minimum balance)OffOnly wallets holding at least the amount you set can register. Your page then no longer says "Free to enter".
One entry per walletOnEach wallet registers once. Recommended.
Verified identity requiredOffPlayers need a verified social account linked to their wallet to register. This makes it harder for one person to enter with many wallets.

Minimum players: if fewer players than this have a result when the event ends, no prizes are paid. The default is 4.

You're the sponsor

You run the event and you pay its prizes. Prizes must be won by skill or by taking part, never by chance, and no one may pay to enter or put up anything to win. The full rules are in our terms.

From start to payout

StatusWhat's happening
DraftOnly you can see it. You can edit it.
ScheduledPublic on your page. Players can register.
LiveThe event is running. Players can still register.
Review holdThe event has ended and the results are in. For the hold (24 hours by default) you see every reported result, best first, and can disqualify an entry that broke the rules, with a reason. Nothing is paid yet.
PayingThe places are being paid from your prize pool.
PaidDone. Your page shows the winners.
Needs fundingThe prize pool couldn't cover the whole table when the hold ended, so nothing was paid. Top up the pool, then press Retry payout.
CancelledYou cancelled it before payout. Nothing is paid.

Places go to the best results your app reported. If two players have the same rank, the earlier registration wins. An event is paid once, in full, or not at all.

What your visitors see

Your page shows a card for your upcoming, live and finished events: the title, when it runs, the prize table in your token, the rules, and Register. Visitors sign in with their wallet to register. "Free to enter" appears only when the event isn't holders only.

Once an event is paid, the card lists the winners: place, wallet, amount and the payout transaction. It never shows full standings. Your app can show its own to its players.
