Backed

Backed puts your word on chain. Your share of your coin's trading fees pays out to you after a cliff, and only while your wallet keeps the share of your first buy you chose. Sell below it and your fees go to your holders, for good. Your coin page says so with a Backed badge and a line on its Terms card, so every buyer sees it before they buy.

It costs you nothing extra and you send no extra transaction.

How it works

  1. Launch with a first buy. Backed is on by default when you buy your own coin at launch on a Standard launch, from your own wallet, on a chain where Backed runs.
  2. Your fee share goes to your coin's vault. The pool pays your share of every trading fee into a contract made for your launch alone. Its address is written into the pool when it launches, and the pool has no function to change it.
  3. Sign twice after your buy. Your wallet signs the vault's terms and hands its own voting weight to itself. Chain Daddy sends the transaction; you pay no gas. The vault records what your wallet holds.
  4. Claim after the cliff. From the end of the cliff, Claim on your coin manager pays out everything the vault holds, as long as your wallet still holds what you committed.

Your settings

Cliff: nothing pays out before it30, 60, 90 or 180 days30 days
Keep: the share of your first buy your wallet must hold50%, 75% or 100%75%

Your coin page reads Backed through the end date. After it, your fees pay out without the requirement.

What counts as holding

A holding counts only in your registered wallet's own balance. Coins in another wallet, in a pool, on an exchange or lent out do not count, and neither does voting weight someone else hands to you. The vault reads the balance as it stood at the end of the previous block, so coins borrowed for a moment never count.

If you sell below what you kept

Anyone can then end your Backed vault, and from that moment every fee in it, and every fee after it, buys your coin on its own pool and goes to your holders through Holder Share. This cannot be undone, and buying back does not restore it. Your page shows Backed: forfeited, and your creator record counts it on the coins you launch later.

Switching it off

Choose Not backed in the launch form. Your fees then pay out to you with no holding requirement, and your Terms card says Backed: no. You choose once, at launch.
